WOW. I’ve just gotten back from rainy Seattle and PAX Prime 2013, and boy, was that fun/exhausting/thrilling/terrifying. I went as part of the Gunpoint (www.gunpointgame.com) team, as part of the PAX 10, which is a selection of the 10 best indie games chosen by the PAX judges that year. Basically, that meant hanging around on the 6th floor of the Washington Convention Center and talking about Gunpoint to everyone who passed by. I also decided early on (and at the urging of fellow composer Ryan Ike – @RyanIkeComposer) to bring a trumpet with and serenade players as they played Gunpoint. Basically, what this became was me playing “live death music” for players every time they bit a bullet playing at the Gunpoint booth. This was a surprising hit, and our fellow PAX 10ers didn’t run me out of there, so that’s probably good 😉
In the end, I met a massive number of amazing people, some of my personal heroes, got to play so many fantastic upcoming games I can’t keep track of them all, and made some great contacts for the future.
Well done, PAX, well done.
Now I just need to follow up on everything…
